It is Monday morning. I know it is college and our schedules are far more flexible than the rigid routines of our beloved high school days, but there will never be a time when Monday is not terrible. Your alarm goes off at whatever time before your first class. We can go ahead and assume that you will hit the snooze button one time, at least that is what I often do when I hear that dreadful noise signaling the day is beginning. But I ask of you, friends and followers, what are you going to wear? I know your first instinct, because I have it as well. You are sleepy and most likely a bit grumpy, so why not just throw on the first thing you see and spend your final few moments enjoying some coffee and television-or even worse, keep the pajamas on and simply do the basics. By basics, I mean brushing your teeth and convincing your reflection in the mirror that this will be just fine. STOP! Rewind just a bit, please. Remember that cute boy that is in your first class? Or the girl who always looks like she is ready to be on the cover of Cosmo at eight in the morning?

Let’s not make any sudden movements, girls, and no one’s fashion sense will get hurt.

I can assure you, there are ways to feel comfortable and still in touch with your slumber side without looking like you rolled out of bed. There is something classy and elegant about fashion basics. The ones that can make you look like a “Gap-ad, ” but cost a mere fraction of that. Try some boyfriend style jeans in the form of capris or pants-depending on the weather, of course. If you lack boyfriend capris, you can always do a couple tiny cuffs on your regular pair; people will never know the difference! Boyfriend jeans are seriously a girl’s best friend. I would suggest some brightly colored flats or gladiator sandals to add the feminine effect. Whichever you have and is more comfortable for walking. Then, pair your bottom half with a simple v-neck shirt. They are a wardrobe must-have and they always manage to look lovely. You can purchase them at any store in a myriad of colors for shockingly reasonable prices. This outfit will be tasteful and current, yet comforting for you in your early classes. I swear it will make your day walking around campus wearing something like this. It shows a confident and personal sense of style with an effortless flair to all who are looking; and yes, they will be looking. Also, if it is chilly, feel free to add a cardigan. They are the best fashion basic out there, next to v-neck tops.
